It is a headache waking up in the morning and noticing a nasty pimple on our face. This is a nightmare we face in our teen years and sometimes it stays with us into adulthood. Here are ten ways on preventing pimple from popping up.

1. Do not touch your face, which is hard to do, however, the bacteria from your hands and fingers will get into your pores and clog it.

2. Clean your face with a salicylic acid in the troubled areas.

3. Benzoyl peroxide is proven to be the most effect non-prescription acne treatment available. I would recommend starting with 5% rather than 10% because it is just as effective and will lower the risk of your skin being excessively dry or peeling.

4. When faced with a pimple do not pop it; this will only spread the infection and make it worse. By popping the pimple could result in a scar later on.

5. I f you must shave an area of skin that is affected by acne use an electric razor. If you use a razor use a single blade and shave in the direction of hair growth.

6. If you have longer hair, be sure to pull it back or away from the face because this will prevent excess oil and bacteria from infecting your skin.

7. Water is the miracle cure; by drinking eight twelve ounce glasses a day can clear your skin fairly quickly.

8. Also as much as possible avoid stress because this will promote hormonal changes within your body and cause flare-ups.

9. Shampooing your hair frequently will prevent breakouts along the forehead and chin area.

10. Never over wash which will aggravate the skin and cause the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum.

Here are ten ways to quickly clear your acne and prevent it from coming back; which I have learned in time. Acne can be a painful battle, however with the right knowledge and tools you can get rid of it quickly.

Causes of Acne and How to Prevent It

You cannot always pinpoint the cause of your acne. There are a variety of causes of this skin condition. Of course, some common causes can be noted.

It can be hereditary in some cases. That is not to say you will necessarily get it if your siblings or parents were afflicted with the condition, but it is certainly possible. You cannot change genetics but you can talk to your physician for advice on how to reduce the risk of being affected by it.

Teenagers often have to face acne for awhile. As children go through puberty, their bodies are exposed to higher levels of hormones. The hormones are often difficult for the skin. Some teenagers suffer from severe pimples while others will only have mild problems (or none at all). Your doctor can help you determine the best treatment for it if you are a teenager or the parent of a teenager who has it.

If you are a woman who is pregnant or who ever becomes pregnant, a breakout might develop. This can happen even if you have never had trouble with them in the past. This is generally caused by the changing hormones in the body. There is usually not much one can do about this type of spots as most medical treatments are not safe during pregnancy. This often goes away after pregnancy.

Not drinking enough water can actually be a cause of acne. Water helps to cleanse your skin and remove toxins from your body. If you are not getting enough water it is easier for toxins to develop and cause problems with your skin.

Foods might not directly cause spots. People used to believe certain foods lead to breakouts. However, they can be caused in part by not having enough intake of vital nutrients. Many nutrients including Vitamin A and Zinc are necessary for healthy skin. If there is not much of these nutrients in your body, the health of your skin can suffer.

Using harsh chemicals to clean your face or in an effort to maintain healthy skin, can actually be counterproductive. If your skin is sensitive to the products you use, it can actually lead to worse problems if it is already present. Try to use products that are intended for sensitive skin and are meant to be safe for skin prone to allergies.

Having too much stress in your life or not handling stress well can certainly cause some problems with spots. Even if you cannot lower the stress in your life, you should work to find healthy outlets for your stress and frustrations. This can help you to avoid or reduce problems with pimples.

There can be medications that are rough on your skin. Some prescription medications can actually cause pimples. If you notice breakouts after starting a new medicine, talk to your doctor to help you determine if the medicine could be the cause.

Other potential risks for acne are also present. By educating yourself on some of the causes of acne, you might be able to reduce the likelihood of being affected by it.

What is Acne Vulgaris, and How to Get Rid of It

Acne is a horrid affliction predominantly affecting the teenage population which results in a very painful experience for those that have to deal with it.

For most individuals it lasts for only several years (through the teenage years) For others, though, it will continue well into their future even until they reach 30 or 40 years of age.It is a skin condition in which bacteria, dead skin cells, and a blocked skin pore with excessive sebum combine to crate either a blackhead, whitehead, or pustule.

These resultant pimples are usually reddened, inflamed, and pimple like masses that are not only uncomfortable, but can also be damaging to the sufferers self esteem as well.

Acne is a condition that definitely demands treatment. There are several causes that contribute to acne on the skin, and there needs to be the right conditions for something to happen. The skin pores, and/or hair follicles are the places where it all happens. The skin is covered with pores, and hair follicles which aretiny little openings on the skin. These pores permit sweating, and the production of sebum which is a the waxy/oily substance designed to lubricate the surface of the skin. If these pores become full of oils as a result of excessive oil production in the sebacious glands, they end up clogging and blocking the skin pores, (as a result of excessive secretions) Bacteria are also commonly on the skin surface, and if they happen to get trapped inside a blocked skin pore, along with dead skin cells, invariably either a blackhead or whitehead will result. If the bacteria and excess oils are not washed away, the bacteria will multiply and consequently lead toskin irritation, and consequently the resultant acne.

This can be treated in several ways. First of all, it should be treated by doing several of the following as they are more likely to be beneficial when done together;

First, the bacteria that is present on, and infecting the skin needs to be treated. Cleansing the area to wash the bacteria away can be done through exfoliating, through medicinal topical treatments or even with the help of lasers.

The oil glands need to secrete only the right amounts of oil onto the skin surface. This is able to be regulated by regulating the hormones that cause it, and also by taking care of these aspects, the individual’s skin is able to improve, and become healthier and eventually helps get rid of the infections caused by the bacteria.
